Event Entry Form

The 24th Annual Miss Prairie Port Pageant will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, 7:00 PM at Forest Park Band Shell. The 2008 Miss Prairie Port will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship, reign over the festivities, and perform numerous duties throughout the weekend. The 1st attendant will receive a $500.00 scholarship and the 2nd attendant will receive a $250.00 scholarship as well as participate in the weekend activities. Applicants for the pageant must be single with no children, between the ages of 17 and 21, reside in Butler County and must be sponsored by an organization or business which will provide a sponsorship fee of $100.00. The applicants are required to complete the attached entry form, which should be completed electronically and provide detailed information about the applicant’s school activities, community service, and academic achievement. The applications will be prejudged on the content and presentation of the application by the panel of judges for the Miss Prairie Port Pageant. It is in the candidates’ best interest to provide extensive and detailed information on the entry form. Contestants will be interviewed by the judges during the day of the pageant, and that evening will be required to model a sports/casual outfit and formal evening gown of their choice on stage. This portion of the pageant will take place at Forest Park where Miss Prairie Port and two attendants will be crowned at the end of the evening’s activities. During the interview, evening gown competition, and sportswear competition, the contestants will be judged on personality, poise and appearance. Weekend activities for Miss Prairie Port and attendants will include a special introduction at the concert at El Dorado Lake Friday night, and a place of honor in the Prairie Port Parade Saturday

morning. In addition, Miss Prairie Port will present ribbons and trophies to prize winners in the other events during the Prairie Port Festival. The Miss Prairie Port Committee will host an informational meeting for the candidates and their parents, as well as walk through rehearsals to prepare for the day’s events, prior to the pageant. The Miss Prairie Port Committee is excited about the 2008 Miss Prairie Port Pageant and will work to make the experience an exciting and rewarding time for the contestants.
